Maritime Museum

Inside the WA Maritime Museum in Fremantle, the Dome Underwater Experience takes visitors beneath the surface without anyone getting wet - high-resolution projection and surround sound in an immersive dome that draws school groups and grandparents alike.

The installation

Technical Alliance installed the experience - the projection, audio and show systems that carry every session - and supported it through its early seasons of service.

What the dome taught us

Museum environments reward the quiet disciplines: documentation that matches what is in the ceiling, spares thinking, service access designed in from the start. Downtime in a museum is measured in disappointed faces at the door, and an immersive exhibit is judged in its first thirty seconds, every session.
