Kelmscott Senior High School

Kelmscott Senior High School’s SP2 build gave the school a new sports hall and performing arts centre, and Technical Alliance designed, supplied, installed and commissioned the theatre systems inside it - practical completion, November 2025.

The full theatre package

Stage rigging and black wool theatre drapes. Stage lighting bars, rack dimming and a Zero 88 FLX24 console. Performance audio on an Allen & Heath SQ-5 with a Dante stagebox and Martin Audio powered loudspeakers. A 7000 lumen laser projector with a motorised screen and a pre-set cyclorama mode, Blustream video distribution, zoned paging integrated with the school PA, wireless crew talkback, and a dance studio with its own system.

Three modes, one touchscreen

The Q-SYS control system gives the venue three room modes. Assembly mode runs the day-to-day: a teacher starts the room from one touchscreen, no technician required. Rehearsal mode opens up the desk and stagebox. Performance mode locks control to the bio box for show night. That is the operating philosophy we bring to every school venue - built for the staff member on duty, not the specialist who visits.

Heard by everyone

An assistive listening system covers both the theatre and the hall, certified against AS 1428, because a school venue serves its whole community. Handover closed the way school projects should: documentation, training and a maintenance schedule the school can hold us to. More of this work lives in Theatre & Education.
