Privacy Policy
Version 1.0 - July 2026
1. About this policy
This policy explains how Venue Form Pty Ltd as trustee for the Venue Form Unit Trust (ABN 95 698 680 921), trading as Technical Alliance handles personal information.
Technical Alliance provides business-to-business audiovisual and ICT consulting, design, integration and support services. If an enquiry concerns TA CONNECT, information may also be handled by TA Connect Holdings Pty Ltd (ACN 685 830 433) as trustee for the TA Connect Unit Trust (ABN 14 273 312 761) (the TA CONNECT operator). Each entity is responsible for the personal information it handles. References to we, us or our mean Technical Alliance and, where relevant to a TA CONNECT enquiry or support arrangement, the TA CONNECT operator.
Whether or not an exemption applies in a particular situation, we use the Australian Privacy Principles as our baseline for handling personal information.
2. Scope
This policy applies to personal information we handle through:
- technicalalliance.com.au and related website pages;
- website, email, telephone and in-person enquiries;
- quotations, proposals, projects, support and other business dealings;
- relationships with clients, prospective clients, suppliers, contractors and professional advisers; and
- website security, server logs and analytics.
It does not replace the privacy terms in a project agreement, support agreement or another contract. If there is an inconsistency, any mandatory law applies first, followed by the more specific contractual term to the extent it is lawful.
3. Personal information we collect
Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect:
- your name, job title, organisation and business contact details;
- project location, sector, project stage, requirements and other information in your enquiry;
- correspondence, meeting notes, quotations, contracts, support records and project administration information;
- billing, procurement and payment-related records if work proceeds;
- information needed to manage suppliers, contractors, insurance, legal obligations or a dispute;
- technical and security information, including IP address, user-agent information, date and time, requested pages, referrer, errors and similar server-log information; and
- the limited website usage information described in section 6.
Please do not submit passwords, identity documents, health information, other sensitive personal information, or confidential project files through the website enquiry form. If we need documents, we will arrange an appropriate transfer method.
We do not knowingly seek personal information about children through this website. The website is directed to business and institutional users.
4. How we collect information
We usually collect information directly from you. We may also receive it from:
- your employer, colleagues, project team, consultants or representatives;
- a person who refers you or introduces a project;
- public business sources and professional directories;
- our service providers, where needed to operate or secure our systems; and
- the TA CONNECT operator where an enquiry or support matter involves both businesses.
If you give us personal information about another person, you should have authority to do so and, where reasonable, tell them about this policy.
5. Why we collect, use and disclose information
We handle personal information to:
- respond to enquiries and understand proposed work;
- prepare scopes, estimates, quotations and proposals;
- enter into, administer and perform contracts;
- deliver, integrate, maintain and support systems and projects;
- manage client, supplier, contractor and professional relationships;
- operate, secure, troubleshoot and improve the website and our systems;
- maintain business, tax, insurance, quality and project records;
- prevent fraud, misuse and cyber security incidents;
- manage complaints, incidents, disputes and legal claims; and
- comply with law, regulatory requirements and lawful requests.
Fields marked as required on a form are needed to submit the enquiry. If you do not provide enough contact or project information, we may not be able to respond or assess the enquiry.
We do not add a person to a marketing list merely because they submitted an enquiry. If we introduce promotional email in future, we will provide any notices and unsubscribe facility required by law.
6. Website analytics, server logs and device preferences
No advertising cookies
The website does not use advertising cookies or cross-site advertising trackers. It does not currently set browser cookies.
Preferences stored on your device
The website stores two user-selected preferences in your browser’s storage: display mode (day or night, kept for your current visit) and whether Simple Mode is on (remembered between visits). These values remain on your device and are not sent to us. You can remove them by clearing site data in your browser.
Umami analytics
We use Umami Cloud to understand how the website is used and to improve navigation and content. Umami is cookieless, but cookieless does not mean that no technical data is processed.
The analytics service may process page path, page title, referrer, browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language, approximate location and events such as a button click. Umami’s current documentation states that it uses the requesting IP address, user-agent information and website identifier to generate a pseudonymous session identifier, and that the IP address is not stored.
We configure analytics so that:
- names, email addresses, phone numbers and enquiry-form contents are not sent to Umami;
- URL search strings and hash fragments are excluded;
- distinct visitor identifiers are not assigned;
- session replay is disabled;
- analytics is restricted to approved production domains; and
- the browser’s Do Not Track setting is respected.
Analytics may therefore contain pseudonymous session and device information. We use it for website measurement, not to identify a visitor, build an advertising profile or track a person across unrelated websites.
Server logs
Our hosting and security systems keep standard server logs for security, fault diagnosis and operations. Logs may include an IP address and other technical information. Access is restricted and logs are retained only for an operational, security, legal or evidentiary need.
7. Who we disclose information to
We may disclose personal information, where reasonably necessary, to:
- the TA CONNECT operator where the enquiry or service concerns TA CONNECT;
- our personnel and authorised contractors on a need-to-know basis;
- project consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and manufacturers involved in work for you;
- website hosting, email, analytics, IT, cyber security, backup and document-management providers;
- accountants, lawyers, insurers, auditors and other professional advisers;
- a prospective purchaser or successor as part of a genuine business transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality controls; and
- regulators, courts, law enforcement or other parties where required or authorised by law.
We do not sell personal information and do not disclose it for another business’s unrelated direct marketing.
8. Overseas processing
Some cloud and technology providers may store or process information outside Australia, including through their subprocessors. Provider locations can change according to service configuration and infrastructure.
We take reasonable steps appropriate to the circumstances to assess providers, limit the information they receive, restrict access and use contractual and security controls. You may contact us for the current overseas locations relevant to a particular service or disclosure.
9. Security
We use technical and organisational measures appropriate to the nature of the information and the risks, including access controls, multi-factor authentication where available, secure configuration, patching, backups, logging, staff procedures and incident response arrangements.
No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. You should not use ordinary email or the enquiry form to send passwords, highly sensitive information or confidential files. We will arrange a more appropriate method when needed.
10. Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including project delivery, support, tax and business records, insurance, dispute management and legal obligations.
When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete it, destroy it securely or de-identify it, subject to backup cycles, legal holds and records we must retain.
11. Access and correction
You may ask for access to personal information we hold about you or ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading.
Contact us using the details in section 16. We may need to verify your identity. We will respond within a reasonable period and generally aim to do so within 30 days. If a lawful exception applies, we will explain the decision to the extent required by law.
12. Privacy complaints
Send a privacy complaint to hello@technicalalliance.com.au with enough detail for us to understand the issue. We will acknowledge and investigate it, and generally aim to provide a substantive response within 30 days. Complex matters may take longer; if so, we will keep you informed.
If you are not satisfied and the Privacy Act applies, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. Information is available at oaic.gov.au. Other regulators or dispute-resolution bodies may also be available depending on the issue.
13. Data breaches
We maintain a data-breach response process. If a breach is likely to result in serious harm and the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme applies, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by law.
14. International visitors
Technical Alliance primarily operates in Western Australia and does not use this website to specifically solicit work outside Australia. Mere access from another country does not necessarily make that country’s privacy law apply.
Where a mandatory overseas privacy law does apply to our handling, we will provide the rights and notices it requires. Depending on the law, these may include rights to access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability or complaint. For processing that requires a lawful basis, relevant bases may include steps requested before a contract, performance of a contract, compliance with law and our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries, securing our systems and operating our business.
15. Automated decisions
We do not currently use personal information collected through the website to make solely automated decisions that significantly affect a person’s rights or interests.
