Parry and Rosenthal Architects assisted Melbourne architect firm, Denton Corker Marshall, in the design of the new pedestrian bridge over the Swan River. It is located between the Burswood peninsula and the Nelson Avenue Special Events Bus Stand in East Perth.
The Matagarup Pedestrian Bridge in Perth is an iconic structure that connects the city centre to the Optus Stadium. Its illumination is a key feature that enhances the bridge’s striking design, resembling two flying black & white swans.
The original architectural design required a rapid reworking of the lighting and control design, calling for bold illumination to match the nearby Optus stadium’s LED fit-out.
